As part of the Year of Energy Efficiency announced by KazMunayGas JSC, KazTransOil JSC implemented a full range of measures provided for in the Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Program for 2025. The projects implemented have resulted in significant energy savings and confirmed the effectiveness of a systematic approach to energy consumption management.
Thus, in January 2025, the Main Oil Pumping Station «Kalamkas» of the Mangistau Oil Pipeline Administration replaced the NM 1250/260 main pumping unit with a new pumping unit with a capacity of 500 m³/h. This made it possible to reduce the specific energy consumption for oil transportation along the Kalamkas-Karazhanbas section of the Kalamkas-Karazhanbas-Aktau main oil pipeline by 18%.
At the end of the Q1 of 2025, the replacement of the NM 3600/230 main pumping unit with a unit with a capacity of 1,250 m³/h was completed at the Kassymov Oil Pumping Station of the Atyrau Oil Pipeline Administration. The expected annual energy savings from this project are approximately 1.5 million kWh.
At the Oil Pumping Station -2 and Dzhumagaliyev Main Oil Pumping Station of the Zhezkazgan Oil Pipeline Administration, two STDP-1250 synchronous electric motors were replaced with modern asynchronous electric motors. The expected effect in terms of reducing electricity consumption is 300,000 kWh per year.
Furthermore, in the Q2 and Q3 of 2025, the company carried out work to optimize the temperature regime of the Uzen–Atyrau–Samara main oil pipeline on the Atyrau–Samara section. As a result of the project, gas savings for oil heating on this section of the «hot» oil pipeline amounted to about 9 million m³ per year.
All processes aimed at improving the energy efficiency of activities of KazTransOil JSC have now been successfully systematized. The company intends to maintain the results achieved by continuing its focused efforts to identify new opportunities for reducing energy intensity and using energy resources more efficiently.
