NC KazMunaiGas JSC and Azerbaijan State oil and gas Company SOCAR signed a Memorandum of Understanding

Chairman of the Board of National Company KazMunaiGas (hereinafter - NC KMG) Alik Aidarbayev met in Baku with President of Azerbaijan oil and gas company SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev. Kazakh delegation in Baku was also represented by Deputy Chairman of the Board for exploration, production and oilfield services of NC KMG Kurmangazi Iskaziyev, General Director of KazTransOil JSC Dimash Dosanov, General Director of National Maritime Shipping Company Kazmortransflot LLP Marat Ormanov. The prospects of cooperation in all segments of oil and gas industry were discussed. The heads of SOCAR and NC KMG signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Memorandum provides for broad cooperation prospects between the companies, including exploration of Caspian Sea, joint study of geological and geophysical materials for the exploration of hydrocarbons, as well as logistics, trading oil and petroleum products. As the first concrete cooperation project, the Memorandum provides for transportation to Baku and subsequent modernization of the floating drilling rig «Satti» owned by NC KMG. It is planned that the rig will be used for drilling operations on SOCAR projects in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian sea. During the meeting, a Protocol of Intent was signed between the Marketing and Economic Operations Department of SOCAR and NMSK Kazmortransflot LLP on cooperation in transportation of hydrocarbons. After the official meeting, the guests got acquainted with the interactive exhibition in the main office of SOCAR. The exhibition is dedicated to the oil industry in Azerbaijan, the historical milestones of the successful development of the industry. Information: National Company KazMunaiGas JSC is a Kazakhstan National Operator for exploration, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons. 90.42% of shares of NC KazMunaiGas JSC belong to National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC, 9.58% to National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
