«Batumi Sea Port» LLC (100% of which is exclusively managed by JSC «KazTransOil» through «Batumi Oil Terminal» LLC) has obtained a certification of compliance with the environmental management system requirements of the international standard EcoPorts.
The implementation of this standard will contribute to the greening of port, loading and unloading, and transportation operations at «Batumi Sea Port» LLC. Achieving this status in accordance with European standards may also enhance the company's investment attractiveness and attract support from the European and World Banks for financing projects aimed at the further development of «Batumi Sea Port» LLC.
«Batumi Sea Port» LLC underwent certification with the assistance of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the ECO Sustainable Logistics Chain Foundation (ECOSLC) as part of the project «Promoting Green Ports and Connectivity.» «Batumi Sea Port» LLC has become the first port in Georgia to receive the certification of compliance with the environmental management system requirements of the international standard EcoPorts. EcoPorts is the main environmental initiative of the European port sector and is integrated into the European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO).
Additionally, since 2009, an environmental management system that complies with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001 has been functioning at «Batumi Sea Port» LLC.
«KazTransOil» JSC exercises direct ownership and management of production assets in Georgia through «Batumi Oil Terminal» LLC. «Batumi Oil Terminal» LLC provides services for transshipment, pumping, storage of oil, oil products, and liquefied hydrocarbon gas, as well as the products of their processing, using its own berths, technological pipelines, and storage tanks.
