As a result of replacing the main pumping unit at the Kalamkas head oil pumping station, the specific electricity consumption for oil transportation along the Kalamkas – Karazhanbas section of the Kalamkas – Karazhanbas – Aktau main oil pipeline has decreased from 1.134 to 0.89 kWh per thousand ton-km, representing a 22% reduction. This measure will result in annual savings of over 880,000 kWh of electricity, with an annual economic effect of 27.6 million tenge.
Since 2015, KazTransOil JSC has been enhancing the energy efficiency of its production processes as part of its energy management system, which complies with the international ISO 50001 standard.
Between 2015 and 2024, KazTransOil JSC reduced the specific electricity consumption for oil turnover by 11.5%, saving more than 38 million kWh of electricity. Additionally, the specific gas consumption for oil turnover through «hot» pipelines has been reduced by 29%, resulting in savings of approximately 50 million m³ of gas.
