KazTransOil JSC reduced pollutant emissions into the atmosphere by 6.9% in 2024 compared to 2023. Overall, emissions decreased by 38.75% between 2019 and 2024. These results were achieved through systematic work to modernize production facilities, introduce energy-efficient technologies, and use environmentally friendly solutions.
In particular, the following measures were implemented to reduce emissions:
Among the key activities were the installation of pontoons in 20,000 m³ oil storage tanks No. 10 and No. 12 at the T. Kassymov OPS of the Atyrau Oil Pipeline Department, as well as the installation of pontoons in 20,000 m³ tanks No. 1 and No. 2 at the B. Zhumagaliyev MOPS of the Zhezkazgan Oil Pipeline Department.
In addition, the pontoons were replaced: at the Aktau MOPS of the Mangistau Oil Pipeline Department - in 5,000 m³ tanks No. 3, No. 5 and at the Atasu MOPS of the Karaganda Oil Pipeline Department - in 20,000 m³ tanks No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5.
In 2025, the reconstruction of 20,000 m³ tanks No. 3 and No. 4 at the B. Zhumagaliev MOPS of the Zhezkazgan Oil Pipeline Administration continues, with pontoon installation work and other technical measures.
A pontoon is a floating device placed inside a tank under its fixed roof. It isolates the oil surface from the gas space, preventing evaporation.
As part of its plans for the period from 2025 to 2030, the company aims to further reduce emissions into the atmosphere by another 15%. This is planned to be achieved through the continued implementation of environmentally friendly technologies and measures aimed at increasing energy efficiency and minimizing the impact on the environment.
These measures are aimed at reducing oil evaporation, preventing air pollution and improving overall environmental safety at the company's production facilities.
The company continues systematic environmental monitoring at its facilities, providing data to independent laboratories and authorized bodies, which guarantees compliance with all environmental standards and regulations.
