LLC Batumi Sea Port (BSP), a foreign asset of JSC KazTransOil, has taken a big step in shaping the future of maritime education by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation with four of Georgia’s leading maritime training institutions. These include Batumi Navigation University, Meridian Maritime Training Center, the «Equator» Training Center, and Makhinjauri Maritime School.
This new partnership is set to offer students and cadets more than just classroom knowledge. Under the agreement, BSP will help develop joint educational programs and hands-on training courses, while also opening its operational facilities for internships. The goal is to give aspiring maritime professionals real-world experience and better prepare them for careers in the industry.
The memorandum builds on an earlier agreement BSP signed with Batumi State Maritime Academy, bringing together different levels of maritime education from secondary to specialized and higher education onto one collaborative platform.
To mark the occasion, representatives from the partner institutions toured BSP’s Corporate Museum. There, they explored the rich history of the port, learned about its current projects, and enjoyed an exhibition by Batumi artists celebrating the port’s cultural significance to the city.
