XII IAOT meeting in Almaty

Today in Almaty, under the chairmanship of the General Director of »KazTransOil» JSC Dimash Dosanov, the 12th International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) meeting has ended. The heads of the largest oil transportation companies of Eurasia, IAOT participants, summed up the results of major joint events and discussed topical issues of cooperation, developed new solutions.

One of the main issues on the agenda of the meeting was the admission of a new member of the Association - Croatian JANAF. JANAF operates the pipeline system and provides crude oil and petroleum product storage services to both Croatian and foreign users in six countries in South-Eastern and Central Europe. Another significant decision taken at the IAOT meeting was the creation of a permanent expert group «Efficient, reliable and safe operation of trunk pipeline systems».

At present, three permanent expert groups on legal issues, energy efficiency, and oil supply function on a permanent basis within the framework of IAOT. Also during the meeting, Deputy General Director of «KazTransOil» JSC Oral Idyrysov presented a report on the results of the international competition «The Best in Profession - 2019», held for the first time under the auspices of the IAOT at the production facilities of «KazTransOil» JSC in Atyrau and Aktau from 5 to 9 August. The competition was attended by 44 specialists of 7 oil transportation companies – IAOT participants. The legend of the last contest was the laying of a futurological capsule in the Druzhba stele with 8 messages from the first heads of companies participating in the IAOT to the future generation of oil pipelines with the forecast of future oil transportation technologies. The messages will be announced at the 10th anniversary of IAOT in 2023.
