At the 16th meeting of the Board of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT), issues of cybersecurity, energy efficiency, operation of trunk oil pipelines, as well as the holding of the international competition «The Best in Profession» were discussed.
During the online meeting, the results of the work of the Permanent Expert Group on Operation were summed up, as well as the report on the first session of the Center for Professional Excellence of the IAOT was reviewed.
The participants noted the effectiveness of joint work in the field of energy efficiency in the process of pumping oil through trunk pipelines. According to the Permanent Expert Group on Energy Efficiency, the average value of specific electricity consumption among the IAOT member organizations for the first half of 2021 decreased by 2.2 percent compared to the same period last year. From 2016 to 2021, this indicator decreased by 8.1%.
During the meeting, representatives of the participating countries reviewed and adopted a joint statement of the IAOT on vigilance against cyber threats. In addition, it was decided to hold the 17th meeting of the association in May in Minsk and in August-September 2022 - the competition «The Best in Profession». The traditional international competition of oil pipelines will be held on the basis of the linear production and dispatch station Mozyr of Gomeltransneft-Druzhba JSC (Republic of Belarus).
The International Association of Oil Transporters was formed in 2013 to assist in coordinating efforts to effectively develop the oil transportation systems of participating companies and strengthen the stability of international oil transportation.
