 03.07.2024    19
To refinance the loan of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, attracted as part of the investment project «Reconstruction and expansion of the main water pipeline «Astrakhan - Mangyshlak» 1st stage», Main Waterline LLP (100% of the participation shares belongs to KazTransOil JSC) received a loan from the Eurasian development bank in the amount of 21 billion tenge for a period of 108 months. The interest rate on the loan is floating, the base rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan minus 2% per annum.

On July 1, 2024, Main Waterline LLP disbursed the loan from the Eurasian Development Bank in full, making partial early repayment of the principal debt on the loan from Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC in the amount of 21 billion tenge.

Recall that in 2022, to finance the investment project «Reconstruction and expansion of the main water pipeline «Astrakhan-Mangyshlak», stage 1,» Main Waterline LLP raised a loan from Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC. Within the framework of this credit line, 41.4 billion tenge were disbursed (the interest rate on the loan is floating, the base rate of the Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan plus 2.5% per annum).

Main Waterline LLP completed the implementation of the investment project «Reconstruction and expansion of the main water pipeline «Astrakhan - Mangyshlak» 1st stage» in December 2023. As part of the project, two sections of the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak main water pipeline with a length of about 176 km were replaced. As a result, the capacity of the Astrakhan - Mangyshlak main water pipeline in the Astrakhan - Atyrau section increased from 110 thousand m³ to 170 thousand m³ per day.

The main water pipeline «Astrakhan - Mangyshlak» is a strategically important object, it is the only centralized source of water supply for consumers of the Kurmangazinsky, Isataysky and Zhylyoisky districts of the Atyrau region, as well as for the city of Zhanaozen, Beineu, Mangistau, Karakiyan and Tupkaragan districts of the Mangystau region.

The functioning and development of oil and gas production and industrial enterprises, as well as petrochemical production projects located in the special economic zone «National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark» in the Atyrau region depends on the uninterrupted supply of Volga water.
