«KazTransOil» JSC applies advanced technologies for tank diagnostics

 06.05.2025    40

«KazTransOil» JSC continues to implement measures for diagnostics and maintenance of tank equipment using modern technologies. The Pavlodar Oil Pipeline Department of the company is conducting work on a full technical inspection of the RVSP-20000 No. 3 tank at the Pavlodar main oil pumping station.

The company is actively implementing advanced diagnostic methods, including TBIT (Tank Bottom Inspection Tool) technology based on the principle of magnetic flux leakage (MFL). This technology allows for the high-precision detection of hidden defects in the tank bottom and assessment of the remaining service life of the equipment. During the comprehensive diagnostics carried out in 2023–2024, defects were detected that could not be detected by traditional methods. This made it possible to promptly plan and carry out the necessary repair work. The use of an innovative approach has significantly increased the reliability of the assessment of the technical condition of the equipment and extended its service life.

In 2025, as part of the planned program of «KazTransOil» JSC, diagnostics of 35 tanks is planned, which confirms the company's systematic approach to ensuring the reliability of the infrastructure and compliance with safety standards.

Inspection of tanks is a mandatory procedure regulated by industrial safety requirements, aimed at identifying defects, preventing emergency situations and reducing environmental risks. It becomes especially important for tanks with a long service life exceeding 20 years. Scheduled inspections using innovative technologies allow «KazTransOil» JSC to ensure a high level of industrial and environmental safety, as well as reliable operation of a tank farm with a total capacity of more than 1.4 million cubic meters.
