As part of the project «Reconstruction and expansion of the main water pipeline «Astrakhan - Mangyshlak», stage 1,» Main Waterline LLP (100% of the participation share belongs to KazTransOil JSC) is building two sections of the pipeline with a length of about 176 km: section 56-207 km (p. Akkol - Akkystau village) and section 648-667 km (bypass of Beineu village). Welding and installation work was completed on the route with a length of 165 km out of 177 km. Hydraulic tests were successfully completed on sections 56-109 km and 109-159.7 km. On the section 159.7-207 km, preparatory work for hydraulic testing is underway.
The implementation of the project will increase the capacity of the «Astrakhan – Mangyshlak» main water pipeline from 110 thousand to 170 thousand cubic meters. m per day in 2024. The functioning and development of oil and gas production and industrial enterprises, petrochemical production projects located in the special economic zone «National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark» in the Atyrau region depends on the uninterrupted supply of Volga water. In addition, the main water pipeline «Astrakhan - Mangyshlak» is the only centralized source of water supply for consumers of the Kurmangazinsky, Isataysky and Zhylyoisky districts of the Atyrau region, as well as for the city of Zhanaozen, Beineu, Mangistau, Karakiyan and Tupkaragan districts of the Mangistau region. Every year, water consumption by the population grows by 4-5%.
