In the Mangistau region, work has been successfully completed on replacing and connecting the pipeline on the 409–422.5 km section to the Uzen-Atyrau-Samara main oil pipeline.

The replacement of the 13.5 km section of the pipeline was carried out as part of KazTransOil JSC's 2021-2025 investment program for the phased renovation of 76.5 km of the Uzen-Atyrau-Samara oil pipeline.

The work carried out improves reliability, contributes to the safe and uninterrupted pumping of oil through the Kazakhstani trunk oil pipeline system, and the successful implementation of the country's transit potential in terms of hydrocarbon transportation.

In order to carry out the work on connecting the section quickly and safely, the main oil pipeline was shut down as planned from September 9 to 11 this year. Instead of the planned 72 hours of work, it was completed ahead of schedule.

The task involved 212 employees from the Mangistau, Kulsar, Atyrau, and Karaganda oil pipeline departments, employees from the operations department, the main dispatch office of the Oil Transportation Management Center branch of KazTransOil JSC, the research and development center of KazTransOil JSC, contractors, and 71 units of special equipment.

In order to protect the health of employees, a medical team from Mediker LLP and employees of the professional paramilitary emergency rescue service were on duty at the site.

The work was additionally monitored using online video surveillance. All personnel activities were coordinated by the operational headquarters for work management.

In order to create comfortable working and leisure conditions for the personnel involved in the work, a temporary camp was set up using special residential trailers.

Technical measures were carried out to connect the section in compliance with industrial safety and occupational health requirements.

Upon completion of the work, oil transportation via the main pipeline was resumed.

The Uzen-Atyrau-Samara oil pipeline is a key route for transporting oil from Kazakhstan to world markets and the second most important route in terms of the volume of Kazakh oil exports.
