 11.11.2025    52

Batumi Sea Port LLC (exclusive rights to manage a 100% stake belong to a subsidiary of KazTransOil JSC, Batumi Oil Terminal LLC) continues to implement strategic initiatives in the field of environmental sustainability and international certification.

In 2024, supported by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and as a result of joint work with the ECO Sustainable Logistics Chain Foundation (ECOSLC, Netherlands), the port received Green Port status and a certificate of compliance of its environmental management system with the international EcoPorts PERS (Port Environmental Review System) standard. The environmental management system audit was conducted by the international certification body Lloyd's Register (Netherlands).

In order to confirm the principle of continuous improvement and prepare for recertification in 2025, BSP conducted an interim audit using the Self-Diagnosis Method (SDM).

Work on preparing the SDM report was carried out between August and September 2025. The Batumi Sea Port received confirmation of a positive audit result and recommendations for further improvement of the environmental management system.

Currently, the Batumi Sea Port is implementing a set of measures to prepare for EcoPorts PERS recertification and confirmation of its Green Port status in 2026.

Maintaining the Green Port international status reflects the commitment of the Batumi Oil Terminal LLC group of companies, a foreign asset of KazTransOil JSC, to the principles of environmental responsibility, rational nature management, and sustainable development.
