On 8 January 2026, Ajar Sagandykova, Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to the N.N. Shmanov Oil Pumping Station of the Atyrau Oil Pipeline Department of KazTransOil JSC.
During the visit, the Member of Parliament was briefed on the key facilities of the station, including the tank farm, the oil vapor recovery unit, as well as the systems for technological process control and response to emergency risks. Particular attention was paid to issues of industrial and environmental safety.
The inspection of the facilities and the discussion of environmental protection measures took place as part of ongoing efforts to improve the regulation of the environmental impact of the oil transportation sector. It was noted that as a result of the implementation of a comprehensive set of environmental measures between 2019 and 2024, air pollutant emissions at KazTransOil facilities were reduced by 38 percent.
In addition, KazTransOil has approved an Emission Reduction Plan for 2025–2030, which предусматривает a further 20 percent reduction in harmful emissions. The implementation of these measures is aimed at further improving the environmental efficiency of production processes and minimizing environmental impact.
