On January 30, Batumi Sea Port hosted delegations of the senior management of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC and Georgian Railway JSC.
The delegations, led by Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Railways, and Lasha Abashidze, Chief Executive Officer of Georgian Railway, visited the port as part of a new stage in the development of the Baku –Tbilisi – Kars route.
In the context of the signed agreement on exclusive transportation along the Marabda–Kartsakhi line, Batumi Sea Port is viewed by its partners as one of the key maritime hubs ensuring efficient logistics and providing transit cargo with access to international markets.
During the inspection of the port’s production facilities, Batumi Sea Port Chief Executive Officer Ulan Tleugali briefed the guests on the port’s current operations and development potential. Particular attention was paid to synchronizing port operations with railway operators in order to ensure maximum throughput capacity and reliability of the Middle Corridor route.
The integration of the port’s capabilities with the new railway route will enable the provision of stable and competitive logistics solutions to international markets. Batumi Sea Port aims to actively participate in the implementation of large-scale regional projects focused on strengthening Georgia’s transit potential and developing a modern transport architecture across the region.
