KazTransOil JSC has completed the construction of a new chemical laboratory at the Zhanazhol Oil Custody Transfer Point (OCTP), which is part of the Alibekmola Head Oil Pumping Station of the Aktobe Oil Pipeline Directorate.
The laboratory is located at the zero kilometer of the Zhanazhol–Kenkiyak main oil pipeline, in the settlement of Zhanazhol, Mugalzhar District, Aktobe Region.
The laboratory building, with a usable area of approximately 255 square meters, is equipped with modern engineering infrastructure designed to accommodate the specifics of rotational (shift-based) operations, ensuring safe and comfortable working conditions for personnel. The laboratory is fully furnished and equipped with the equipment and analytical instruments required to perform a complete range of crude oil analyses.
To ensure proper storage of inventory and materials, a warehouse building with a usable area of 18 square meters has been constructed adjacent to the laboratory.
The modern chemical laboratory located at this facility plays a strategically important role by ensuring quality control of crude oil supplied to the main oil pipeline system of JSC KazTransOil. In particular, it monitors oil received from the Zhanazhol and Alibekmola oil custody transfer points in volumes of approximately 3 million tonnes per year, or up to 70% of the total oil supply from the Aktobe region’s fields, for subsequent transportation to oil refineries in the Republic of Kazakhstan as well as to export destinations.
The determination of crude oil quality parameters in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents is an integral part of custody transfer operations. This process ensures uninterrupted oil transportation within the schedules approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and supports the fulfillment of contractual obligations to consumers.At the Zhanazhol OCTP laboratory, five specialists work on a rotational basis. Laboratory testing of crude oil is carried out around the clock, ensuring continuous quality control during oil transportation.
