As part of its environmental initiatives, KazTransOil JSC has completed the installation of a pontoon in a 20,000-cubic-meter oil storage tank at the T. Kasymov oil pumping station. This device significantly reduces oil evaporation, lowering the volume of pollutants released into the atmosphere by 80%.
The pontoon is a floating device placed inside the tank beneath its fixed roof. It isolates the oil surface from the gaseous space, preventing evaporation.
In addition to pontoons, KazTransOil JSC utilizes gas equalization systems, vapor recovery units, and is transitioning boiler equipment to natural gas.
Atmospheric pollutant emissions at KazTransOil JSC facilities decreased by 12% in January-September 2024 compared to the same period last year.
The company also conducts regular industrial environmental monitoring across all its facilities. Monitoring results are submitted quarterly to authorized environmental protection agencies.
