«KazTransOil» JSC liquidated consequences of TON-2 MP damage in North Kazakhstan

On September 19, during the preparatory works on reconstruction of TON-2 main oil pipeline in the North Kazakhstan region owned by «KazTransOil» JSC, «Akniet-BN» LLP contracting organization damaged the pipeline at 1100.3 km. As a result of the pipeline damage, oil spilled. 42 employees and 14 units of special equipment of Peterfield dispatch station of the Eastern branch of «KazTransOil» JSC were involved in repairing of the pipeline from 19 to 20 September. Oil pumping through TON-2 MP was resumed at 12.04 a.m. (Astana time) on September 20 with 10 hours 19 minutes lost. The oil-contaminated soil and oil spills are now being collected. The amount of damage caused to the environment and «KazTransOil» JSC is to be confirmed. Reference: «KazTransOil» JSC is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the main oil pipeline. The company manages a network of main oil pipelines stretching over 5,6 thousand km and water pipelines over 1,9 thousand km long. The production facilities of «KazTransOil» JSC are located in Karaganda, Pavlodar, South Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Mangistau, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Almaty, Aktobe and East Kazakhstan regions. «KazTransOil» JSC has been transporting oil through the Kazakh section of TON-2 MP stretching totally 185,57 km since 2007.
