KazTransOil JSC announces about the start of transportation of Russian oil to the Republic of Uzbekistan

In accordance with the Framework Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on some issues of cooperation in the energy sector, signed on September 16, 2017, the transportation of Russian crude oil by the system of trunk oil pipelines «Omsk – Pavlodar – Shymkent – oil loading station Shagyr (transshipment to rail tank cars)» of «KazTransOil» JSC has started on November 16, 2017. On November 16, 2017, at the acceptance-delivery point of crude oil on the border of the Russian Federation with the Republic of Kazakhstan the first batch of Russian crude oil, which is to be transported via the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, was pumped into the system of trunk oil pipelines of «KazTransOil» JSC. «The beginning of the transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan is an important event for «KazTransOil» JSC and for Kazakhstan in terms of increasing the attractiveness of the country's transit potential. From the standpoint of technical readiness, we have long been ready to transport additional volumes of oil by this route. Oil will be pumped through the pipeline system to the oil loading station Shagyr, where it will be transshipped to railway tanks and then transported by rail to Uzbekistan. According to oil supply schedules, the volume of transit in November will be 30 thousand tons. It is planned to transport up to 80 thousand tons of crude oil using this route until the end of 2017,» – said Dimash Dosanov, General Director of «KazTransOil» JSC. As of November 20, 2017, the system of trunk oil pipelines of «KazTransOil» JSC accepted 20.95 thousand tons of crude oil from Russia, while 13.3 thousand tons of oil was loaded to railroad tank cars at the oil loading station Shagyr.
