In 2025, as part of the 2020–2025 Investment Program for crude oil transportation to the domestic market of the Republic of Kazakhstan via trunk pipelines, KazTransOil JSC completed the reconstruction of sections of the Uzen–Atyrau–Samara and Kalamkas–Karazhanbas–Aktau trunk oil pipelines. The projects are aimed at enhancing the reliability of oil transportation, ensuring industrial and environmental safety, and reducing the risk of emergency situations along key routes of the national oil transportation system.
On the Uzen–Atyrau–Samara trunk oil pipeline, with a diameter of 1,020 mm, two sections with a total length of 30 km were reconstructed. The project included the replacement of the pipeline’s linear section, the installation of two shut-off valves with a diameter of 1,000 mm equipped with electric actuators, as well as the implementation of automation and telemechanics systems to enable real-time monitoring of oil pumping parameters.
On the linear section of the Kalamkas–Karazhanbas–Aktau oil pipeline, with a diameter of 530 mm, the reconstruction of a 23 km section was completed. The works involved the full replacement of the pipeline’s linear section from km 0 to km 23. A renewable power supply source was installed to provide electricity for the equipment of the control and monitoring unit. In addition, a new line valve station was commissioned at the 23 km mark, a pig launching and diagnostics chamber was constructed, and drainage as well as process parameter monitoring systems were installed.
As part of the reconstruction works on both sections (23 km and 30 km), the pipelines were additionally reinforced with factory-applied insulation, ensuring reliable protection against corrosion. Power supply and cathodic protection systems were upgraded, and modern equipment was installed in full compliance with current industrial and environmental safety requirements.
The completion of the reconstruction of the Uzen–Atyrau–Samara and Kalamkas–Karazhanbas–Aktau trunk oil pipeline sections will enhance the resilience of the oil transportation system and ensure stable and safe oil supplies to consumers.
