«KazTransOil» JSC put three facilities in Karaganda region into commissioning

 25.11.2014    261
On the eve of the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan «KazTransOil» JSC announced about completion of construction and reconstruction of three major production facilities: construction of «Kumkol–Karakoin» pipeline, the pipeline booster pump station at HOPS named after. B. Dzhumagaliyev and reconstruction of the power supply system at OPS Barsengir. These facilities are important components of the Kazakhstan-China project aimed at increasing the export of Kazakh oil to consumers in China and ensuring the expected growth of hydrocarbons consumption in the domestic market. At the moment, all of the facilities are put into operation. Capital construction of the third line of «Kumkol–Karakoin» pipeline with the total length of 198.9 km at section 0 km - HOPS named after B. Dzhumagaliyev passing through the territory of Karaganda region is stipulated by the further implementation of the project on Kazakhstan–China pipeline extension. In particular, construction of an additional line of this pipeline is necessary to boost the export capacity and create technical capacity for supplying Kazakh oil to the domestic market, including the POCR, within the framework of ensuring energy security of Kazakhstan. The pipeline was constructed stepwise, by two sections. The first stage of the project on construction of «Kumkol-Karakoin oil pipeline (0-26 km) bypass line» was launched in August 2012. The certificate of the State Acceptance Commission on acceptance of the facility into operation was signed on May 30, 2013. In September 2013, construction of the second section (26 km – HOPS named after B. Dzhumagaliyev) began. The certificate of the State Acceptance Commission on commissioning of the second section of the pipeline was signed on September 30, 2014. The contractor in construction of this facility is «Electro-HSBM» LLP. The total construction cost amounted to 23 billion tenge. Construction of the pipeline booster pump station using modern horizontal pump units at HOPS named after B. Dzhumagaliyev started in July of 2013. The former vertical booster pumps have become physically and morally obsolete for more than 20 years of operation and no longer meet the reliability and energy efficiency requirements. The new booster pump station is equipped with modern horizontal pumps providing oil pumping to the Shymkent refinery, HOPS Atasu and further towards China. These units have improved hydraulic characteristics and more robust designs that will increase reliability, reduce energy consumption and repair and maintenance costs. The certificate of the State Acceptance Commission on commissioning of the facility was signed on September 30, 2014. The total cost amounted to 1.1 billion tenge. Reconstruction of the power supply system at OPS Barsengir located on «Pavlodar-Shymkent» pipeline in Zhezkazgan region was launched in October 2013. It was carried out in connection with the planned increase in volumes of oil pumping through «Kumkol-Karakoin-Atasu–Alashankou» pipeline. As a result of works held the physically worn out electrical equipment of the pumping station was replaced by new one, which meets all modern requirements for energy efficiency and saving at production facilities. The total cost amounted to 725 million tenge. The certificate of the State Acceptance Commission on commissioning of the facility was signed on October 31, 2014. Reference: «KazTransOil» JSC is the subsidiary of «KazMunayGas» NC JSC and the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the main oil pipeline. The company manages a network of main oil pipelines stretching over 5,5 thousand km and water pipelines over 2,1 thousand km long, and provides jobs for more than 8 thousand people. The production facilities of «KazTransOil» JSC are located in Karaganda, Pavlodar, South Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Mangistau, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Almaty, Aktobe and East Kazakhstan regions. The Zhezkazgan Oil Pipeline Department of the Eastern branch of «KazTransOil» JSC was established in 1985. It serves «Kumkol-Karakoin» main pipeline, sections of «Pavlodar-Shymkent», «Kenkiyak-Kumkol» main pipelines, and the oil pipeline owned by «Turgai Petroleum» JSC with the total length of 1538.2 km. The department is composed of production facilities located in Karaganda and Kyzylorda regions: HOPS Kumkol, HOPS named after B. Dzhumagaliyev, OPS Barsengir, LPDS Aralsk and Turgai Petroleum oil pipeline, 4 emergency recovery stations and 1 reference emergency recovery station. «Kenkiyak-Kumkol» pipeline is the first stage of the second phase of construction of «Kazakhstan – China» pipeline. It was put into operation in late 2009. In 2010, under the Agreement between the Government of China and the Government of Kazakhstan on development of comprehensive cooperation in the area of oil and gas dated May 17, 2004, new HOPS Kumkol was built, which is unique in Kazakhstan. Here is used the fully automated system of oil transportation control, the latest microprocessor equipment of SIEMENS production, which had not been operated in Kazakhstan for oil pumping. HOPS Kumkol receives oil from Kumkol group of fields and from the western region via «Kenkiyak-Kumkol» pipeline. It pumps oil for export towards China through «Kumkol-Karakoin» main oil pipeline (Karakoin-Atasu section), and for the Shymkent refinery (PKOP LLP) through «Kumkol-Karakoin» main oil pipeline (Karakoin- Shymkent Acceptance Delivery Station section).
