 07.12.2016    258
Today, President Nursultan Nazarbayev unveiled an upgraded oil pumping station - OPS «663 km» - of Atyrau Oil Pipeline Department of the Western Branch of «KazTransOil» JSC, during the regional teleconference arranged within his working visit to Atyrau oblast. The upgraded OPS «663 km» increased the capacities of Atyrau-Kenkiyak section of Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline for transportation of oil for export and to domestic refineries. The reconstruction and expansion of OPS «663 km» have been conducted within the framework of the second phase of the second stage of Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline construction, in order to ensure the possibility of transporting oil of different shippers, including Kashagan oil, towards the People’s Republic of China, as well as supplying Western Kazakhstan oil to domestic refineries. This will help meet the expected growth in oil consumption after the refinery modernization using domestic crude stock. «It is gratifying that we are opening the upgraded oil pumping station on the eve of the Independence Day. It gave us an opportunity to transport Kashagan oil and oil from other Western Kazakhstan fields for export to China and domestic refineries,» Zhenisbek Lukpanov, the Director of the Western Branch of «KazTransOil» JSC, reported to the President of Kazakhstan during the teleconference. The reconstruction and expansion of OPS «663 km» started in January of 2014, with the works being done by the domestic contractor. In accordance with the design solutions, OPS «663 km» will serve as the head OPS of «Kenkiyak – Atyrau» oil pipeline in a reverse mode. It is also meant for oil pumping through «OPS «663km» – AOR» pipeline. Department on Public Relations and Internal Communications of KazTransOil JSC
